Paint Surface Inspection Before Polishing

Before rubbing or polishing, the vehicle paint surface must be checked properly. Inspection helps decide whether the panel needs simple polish, heavy rubbing, sanding correction, or repainting.

Inspection points

• Paint dullness and oxidation
• Swirl marks and machine marks
• Scratches and sanding marks
• Clear coat condition
• Previous repaint quality

Deep scratches, cracked clear coat, rust, and damaged paint may require painting instead of polishing.
