Compound Rubbing Guide
Compound rubbing is used to cut the top surface of damaged or dull clear coat. It helps reduce visible oxidation, sanding haze, heavy swirl marks, and rough surface appearance.
Process
- Wash and decontaminate the panel
- Select correct compound and pad
- Work panel by panel
- Check surface temperature
- Remove compound residue carefully
Heavy rubbing must be handled carefully to avoid burning edges, trims, and thin clear coat areas.
